Sudden Oak Death & RhododendronsThese sites offer detailed information on Sudden Oak Death:
We have always recommended the use of bark (ground wood) as the best planting medium for growing rhododendrons and azaleas. A plant in a well-watered mound of bark will grow faster, bloom better and will have a much higher resistance to disease than one planted in a more "traditional" manner (i.e: in a hole with average garden soil). Our CARE GUIDE has more information to help you understand the importance of using bark with your rhododendron and azalea plantings. |
